Our Mission is to speak of birth...

from the heart, to the heart…

to inspire, to share, to support...birth-givers and birth-workers
in the commitment to keeping birth simple whenever possible
and honouring women and babies no matter what ....

To light the way to better birth.

Our Vision is of a better world...

where women can discover their strongest and most beautiful selves....

where babies are born into love. ...

a better world through better birth

“Engaging emotions is critical when sharing of birth.

Nic and Vicki touch all who are a part of their audience -

by speaking to their hearts, their dreams, their experiences and their emotions.

The message is clear - birth matters, birth is powerful and women are strong.

I've had the honor and the pleasure to be at two of their incredible presentations.

If sessions could be rated as to how moving and engaging they are, Nic and Vicki would get a five star rating. They bring forth goose-bumps, tears and ultimately a re-commitment to continue our work with birthing women - their experience matters!

Vicki and Nic are uncompromising - every word is the best word, every image is the ideal image.

As a team they are powerful.

And I thank them for sharing their passion.”

Birthfire Guiding Principals and Beliefs

‘I attended a birth at a private hospital recently. The woman birthed beautifully without assistance from man, medicine, or machine. Her husband, in awe of the power and beauty of his child’s passage to the world watched quietly as the woman enfolded the new life in her arms. The babe began to suck at her mother’s breast. Her father’s eyes opened wider and he whispered to me, “I’m just thinking about her little body, and all that goes on inside of it to get her born, to bring her to the point of breathing, and now, breastfeeding.

It’s amazing… So complex, so intricate, and yet, so simple. It all just happened. You wouldn’t want to mess with that, would you?”

“No”, I said, “I wouldn’t” Not without a damned good reason.’
